Seong-keun Jeon

Seong-keun Jeon, known by the artistic name Muto, is a master ceramic artist whose career spans over four decades, blending Korean tradition with contemporary form.

 

Since winning the Bronze Medal in Woodcraft at the 1984 Skills Olympics, he has garnered top honors in major competitions, including the Grand Prize at the Gangjin Celadon Competition, and has been invited to prestigious exhibitions and workshops across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.

 

His works have been showcased at institutions such as Christie’s New York, the British Museum, and the Saatchi Gallery, as well as at international craft fairs in Germany, France, China, and Saudi Arabia.

 

With numerous solo exhibitions to his name, Jeon’s creations—collected by heads of state from over 20 countries and housed in leading museums worldwide—embody a refined harmony of material mastery, cultural heritage, and innovative design, establishing him as a significant figure in contemporary Korean ceramics.
